Metal nanoparticles through functionalized membranes

As part of a collaboration with the Chemical Engineering Laboratory of Toulouse (Team of Pierre Aimar, and subject developed with Jean-Christophe Remigy and Jean-François Lahitte) -project funded by the UPS through calls transversales- research, we develop applications of functionalized membrane by polymers, for immobilization of metal nanoparticles, including PdNPs. Current studies focus on the functionalization of a polymer membrane flat (flat-sheet) by radical photo-initiated polymerization of ImILs monomers, an ionic poly-liquid grafted on a polyethylsulfone support.

Preliminary results in the C-C and C-heteroatom bond formation and in hydrogenation reactions are very encouraging: the activities are high with excellent chemoselectivity for very short residence times (4-8 s) with temperatures between 30-60 ° C, without metal leaching.
